Genos Research Platform
frog partnered with Complete Genomics as they planned to launch a yet-to-be named start-up—a radical new research platform that would empower users to better understand their personal genetic health, while also accessing a unique opportunity to contribute to life-saving scientific advancements. The frog team created the brand, go-to-market strategy, designed the end-to-end product experience, and developed/launched the initial alpha experience. I was focused on the design of the product experience—a 2-sided research marketplace and customer health application meant to educate and inspire the customers and research participants that joined the platform.
Role: Visual Designer

Scope: Web research marketplace and customer health app, design language system (including extensive sets of iconography and data visualizations)
Public Website
Design Language System
The design language system was meant to feel scientific, but with a sophisticated and modern sensibility. We saw an opportunity to design something unique that would stand out from the typical, generic look of healthcare design, especially in terms of color palette, typography, and graphic style.

Sign-up and Onboarding
The onboarding experience felt high-touch and personalized; after participants’ genomic sequencing was complete, they even received a unique logo based on their genetic data.
Surveys & Studies
The research conducted on the platform by universities and biotech companies relied on the combined data sets from participants’ genomes and their self-reported survey data on family history, lifestyle, environment, etc.
